Serendipitous Service

Life is filled with twists and turns,

Like a roller coaster too fast, like a carousel too slow.

Once we find the answers to our concerns,

Then it is almost time for us to go.

But then out of the blue we get our chance,

Our turn to participate or even lead the dance.

A chance to create our very own jig,

Or be a part of something big.

We must always be ready to play.

When it is our time to enter the fray.

Reaching those needing a shining ray,

Serving God and others in a special way.

There is no point in bringing a complaint.

Weren't we free, with no restraint?

Did others really get a better deal?

Or did we just sometimes catch the ball and kneel.

For every person life has its chances,

Even if we often miss our entrances.

We can rest assured God's kingdom still advances.

That we were a part of it, entering into God's dances.

When we begin to look back on it all

And wonder if our life was all worth it.

We can rest assured we answered God's call

We were a part of God's grand ball.
