Grateful

Today I am grateful for the tiny and the small,
For the many scribbled papers that dot my wall,
For the hide-and-go seek with grandkids I play,
For the opportunity to be part of their day.
Today I am thankful for good health,
For sharing life with one for many years,
For having more than enough--even wealth,
For family and friends to disarm my fears.
Because I know God has blessed my past,
I look forward to what is in store,
I aim to slow down and go not so fast,
I want to serve God more, more, more.
When all is said and done in my life,
I will surely be able to say,
Thank you, God for family, friends, and wife.
For the ability to work and play.
On this Sabbath I ponder,
On days of work and rest.
On filling my life with wonder,
On saving for last the best.
Make me more grateful, Lord.
More mindful of your Word.
Ease my worries, help me to trust.
To know you're with me from boom to bust.
